The words you are too afraid to write for fear they will be read are as mountains of lava waiting to erupt the dormancy. The question: why do people make environmentalism their religion or democracy their voice? Moreover, is organized religion nothing but a way to stand for something so we won't fall for anything; a way to believe in something to exert power and a feeling of superiority over disbelievers? Is it a functional and legitimate way to label oneself and belong to something you feel is forceful and real? To some it is. Others choose the path of personal choice.

The purpose we all seek to find in this ever-changing world of mass hypocrisy, both in leaders and within ourselves, are as fleeting as the ear that will listen to the wind of change. The fact remains: we all want something to believe in as to why we exist and what impact we will make on this earth. When speaking up on issues is all we do and preaching to hope someone will follow our words is our lifeboat, self-indulgence creeps in and there's no rescue.

Are our words meant to help others or help merely ourselves achieve that high status in the minds of others, both friend and enemy? When we speak, do we speak our true belief, or something we want people to believe we stand for so we can stand high above them basking in our own wisdom?

If we do not lead by example, we should not lead at all. If your voice only makes a sound, it should not be used at all. If you really want to make a change, start with your own life, look to your own values, instead of hopping on the bandwagon in hopes it will take you to the something that has meaning. Find your own meaning, interpret your own world and live your own life making your own change. Then, at the end of the day, you've reached the multitudes through action.

Whatever day, in whatever way, change is power and voice is electricity
